Reference electrode of the ph meter

The solution has no response to hydrogen ion activity. Electrodes with known and constant electrode potentials are called reference electrodes. Reference electrode mercuric sulfate electrode, calomel electrode and silver / silver chloride electrode and other electrodes.

The most commonly used are calomel electrodes and silver / silver chloride. Reference electrode in the measurement of the role of the battery is to provide and maintain a fixed reference potential, so the reference electrode is the potential stability, attention, the temperature coefficient is small, the current through the polarization potential is small. The commonly used reference electrode on the market is the 232 reference electrode.
